The Ingersoll Rand 23410798 blowdown valve bleeds off sump/separator vessel pressure when the compressor goes into the unload mode. This depressurizes the system so the compressor is not at full pressure when not running loaded.

The 23410798 valve is installed on the airend. This has separate tubing that connects back to the separator which allows the oil resevoir to be depressurized.
