The Powerex Enclosed Scroll Air Compressor unit is designed to provide clean, dry air for industrial applications where the quality of the compressed air is critical. The standard unit is rated for a maximum of 115 PSIG. A higher pressure version (max. 145 PSIG) is also available. The compressor has advanced scroll compressor technology through the development of a completely oilless compressor. The Powerex Scroll Compressor offers a dynamically balanced air end which insures vibration-free operation. The rotary design permits a continuous 100% duty cycle.

The SES0308 includes a sound reducing enclosure with dust protection that Powerex calls WhisperAIR. Powerex’s trademarked oil-free enclosure systems offer the lowest noise levels in the industry. Each system is packaged in a rigid steel frame with powder coated panels and lined with sound-deadening insulation. The low noise levels are unmatched in the industry and allow installation at the point of use, while the small footprint simultaneously maximizes floor space.. The noise enclosure lets operators install this compressor close to the point of use, minimizing piping installation and pressure drop. The enclosure has side access panels to allow service of the electrical controls. The oil free compressor has side cooling air intakes and all exhaust air leaves the enclosure from the right side.

This model is available in 208v, 230v and 460v three phase power. A magnetic motor starter with overload protection is pre-installed prior to shipping and wired based on your buildings power. Since this is a basemount compressor, it is designed to be tied into a separate air receiver if required. There is an internal 13 gallon storage tank built inside the compressor enclosure to balance out the pressure. This receiver tank also has an electronic auto drain pre-installed.

Two pressure setpoints are available on the SES0308 3hp compressor depending on your sites psi requirements. 116psi is the most common but this is also available in a 145psi configuration at a slightly higher cost. Oil-Less Scroll Compressor Features:

Our innovative scroll technology is completely oil-less, extremely quiet, and energy efficient. The scroll pump has few moving parts, making it reliable and easier to maintain. The self lubricating tip seals and absence of a gearbox means the pump is truly 100% oil free. As the scroll orbits, a crescent-shaped cavity is gradually reduced, compressing the air and exhausting it through the final discharge point at the center. During operation, all the gas passages are in various stages of compression at all times, resulting in nearly continuous compression and discharge. As the leaders in scroll pump technology, our latest design incorporates several innovative features:

• Main bearings are housed in durable cast iron instead of aluminum which prevents fretting and premature failure of the bearing race. This pump can be operated at 100% duty with confidence.
• The patented bearing re-grease feature has been improved to allow maintenance from the front side of the pump, cutting service time in half.
• The patented tip seal design yields the highest flow rates and longevity of any other dry scroll compressor.
• The improved efficiency and cooling results in lower operating temperatures.
• Extremely low vibration.
