The Ingersoll Rand 47637061001 thermal valve kit contains the 47589616001 170ºF thermal valve actuator and 22186696 thermal spring. 

The thermal valve actuator sits on the inside of the manifold connected to the bottom of the air/oil cooler. This valve opens when the oil gets hot to let coolant flow through the cooler/radiator before the oil is sent back into the sump tank.

This is one of the most common wear items that should be changed every year depending on your compressor run hours. If your compressor keeps shutting off before reaching the cutoff pressure, there is a good chance the compressor is overheating because the thermal valve is not opening to let the oil flow through the cooler.

47637061001 themostatic kit is used on most Ingersoll Rand RS11-RS22i series air compressors (with and without integrated dryers) with a pre-set pressure of 110 and 125psi. Please contact our parts department if you have questions and to ensure this will fit your air compressor.
