39592951 is a gas spring belt tensioning device. This is used when changing the belt on several models of the Ingersoll Rand rotary screw air compressors. This is an OEM part manufactured by Ingersoll Rand. Many of these models included the EP40SE and EP50SE, however we recommend contacting us with your serial number for confirmation.

The gas spring is designed to keep correct tension on the belt and should be changed anytime the belt is changed. Ingersoll rand recommends changing the gas spring and belt every 8,000 hours or every two years.

This is non-overloading and assures long life of the motor and airend bearings due to less force on the pulleys.
