The Chicago Pneumatic 2203 0387 00 solenoid valve is a load/unload solenoid. This valve sends the signal to the inlet valve to either open or close depending on the compressors operation. This solenoid valve is used on the Chicago Pneumatic 10-15HP QRS compressors as well as certain Atlas Copco and Quincy air compressors. This is powered by a 24v signal off the transformer in the electrical cabinet of the compressor.
Often times this valve will be bad if your compressor does not kick in to build pressure when the lower psi setpoint is reached or it will not idle down when the upper pressure setpoint is reached.
The part number may be displayed in your manual as 2203 0387 00, 2203038700, or 2203-0387-00
