Ingersoll Rand's 2340L5 is their entry level two stage reciprocating air compressor. This compressor is designed for the weekend warrior or smally body shop.

The 2340 bare pump uses a 100% cast iron frame is designed to support the overhung crankshaft that is supported by two heavy duty ball bearings with replaceable crankpin bushings. Entire shaft is balanced with an integral counterweight to insure smooth operation. The cylinders are separately cast and individually bolted to the frame in a V-type configuration. These are precision honed for low oil carryover and radial fins on the cylinders help remove heat and ensure 360 degree cooling of the cylinders. The intercooler between stages is of finned copper tube construction to provide maximum cooling area. The intercooler removes the heat of compression between stages keeping running temperatures and power needs to a minimum.

The 2340L5 200v 3 phase model is receiver mounted on a 60 gallon ASME coded tank and includes a ball valve, gauge and pressure relief valve. Since this is a three phase compressor and E-series motor starter is pre-installed to provide full voltage control of the motor. An overload realy is included to protect the motor windings from termperatures rises and motor overloads due to voltage issues.

Since the 2340 is a two stage compressor pump this model will build to 175psi max pressure. The power needed to run this compressor is either 200/3/60 or 208/3/60hz. If instead you are in need of the single phase 230v model, please consider the Ingersoll Rand 2340L5-1 air compressor.
