The 1312101232 low oil level shutdown switch housing threads onto the pump and holds the actual low oil level switch. The LOLS will turn off the compressor if the unit runs low on oil so the pump does not seize up. This switch is used on a wide variety of Chicago Pneumatic, BelAir and NAPA air compressors. 

Note that this part is for the sliver housing only. If you need the actual low oil level switch that threads into this housing and has wires that run back to the magnetic motor starter, you would want to purchase item 1312101285.
