The Graco 256949 Fluid Set works by providing the necessary components to control and apply different types of coatings efficiently through a spray gun.

The spray needle is responsible for controlling the flow of paint from the spray gun to the nozzle. The #5 needle in this set (2.2 mm) is designed for finer materials like urethanes, latex and enamels, offering a controlled and smooth flow of fluid. The size of the needle determines how much material is released at once. 

The nozzle works in conjunction with the needle. As the needle moves, it opens or closes the passage for fluid, controlling how much material flows out. The nozzle determines the shape and pattern of the spray, allowing you to customize your finish depending on the type of material you are spraying.

The Graco quick release feature allows you to easily swap out fluid sets without needing to disassemble the entire spray gun. This helps to save time, especially when working with multiple materials or needing to clean the gun in between coatings. Simply releasing and attaching a new fluid set lets you quickly switch between applications like lacquer, epoxy, or enamel.
