Portland Compressor is one of the largest Graco painting equipment suppliers in the United States and one of the largest pressure washer distributors in the Pacific Northwest. We provide sales, parts, accessories and service for these product lines as well as others. Portland Compressor is a rapidly growing company and is looking for the appropriate person to grow with us.

Position Overview

Portland Compressor has an immediate opening in our service department as an inside service technician for an individual with experience repairing painting equipment, pressure washers, and air compressors. This position entails performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on equipment inside of our service shop. The main responsibility is to perform diagnostics on malfunctioning equipment by determining the causes for issues and perform those repairs based on the diagnosis.

General Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and repairs on painting equipment, pressure washers, and air compressors
• Perform diagnostics and determine causes for malfunctions on defective equipment
• Provide failure analysis and equipment recommendations to improve reliability and/or performance
• Read and comprehend operational manuals, electrical schematics, and parts breakdowns
• Document service activities by completing work orders for each job
• Call customers to explain the problems with their equipment and answer questions accordingly
• Other assignments may be given at the discretion of the management

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of service work related to commercial equipment (small engine repair, pressure washers, painting equipment, lawn/garden equipment, etc)
• Experience in the painting industry and/or pressure washer industry is a plus
• Working mechanical knowledge, including the use of tools and test equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude for industrial and commercial equipment
• Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for multiple types of equipment
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Good customer service skills
• Valid driver's license and clean record
• The job requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs
