Portland Compressor was founded in 1984 and is a true brick and mortar company specializing in air compressors, painting equipment and pressure washers, located in Portland Oregon. Portland Compressor is the only Ingersoll Rand dealer in Oregon, one the largest Chicago Pneumatic compressor distributors in the United States, and the largest independent Graco distributor in the county. We provide sales, parts, accessories and service for these product lines as well as others. With nearly two dozen of us making things happen here at Portland Compressor, we pride ourselves on providing the same home-town service that got us off the ground in 1984. Position Overview

Portland Compressor has an immediate opening in our parts counter department for an individual with customer service experience. This position entails working directly with customers regarding parts and equipment sales, troubleshooting, reading parts diagrams, pulling parts orders, answering phone calls, and performing computer point of sale transactions. The hours for this position are 7:30 to 4:30 Monday thru Friday.

General Responsibilities

• Pull equipment and parts orders
• Assist customers with parts and equipment sales by generating quotes and sales orders
• Read and comprehend operational manuals and parts breakdowns
• Greet customers when they enter the store
• Answer phone calls and respond to email inquiries
• Read and comprehend operational manuals and parts breakdowns
• Troubleshooting equipment problems and providing parts based on the analysis
• Help with loading and unloading freight trucks and customer vehicles
• Assist with restocking inventory and organizing parts room
• Other assignments may be given at the discretion of the management

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of customer service and parts experience work related to commercial equipment
• Fluent in Spanish language is a plus
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Computer Skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows PC, etc
• Working mechanical knowledge, including the use of tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude for industrial equipment
• Able to read parts schematics for multiple types of equipment
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience in the painting, pressure washer, or compressor industry is a plus
• Valid driver's license and clean record
• The job requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
