The Ingersoll Rand 37974318 solenoid valve is often called a blowdown valve. The original part number for this valve was 39499652. This part now supersedes to 37974318 which includes the needed o-ring. If your parts manual shows 39499652 as the blowdown valve, then purchasing 37974318 is the correct item for your compressor.

The blowdown valve bleeds off sump/separator vessel pressure when the compressor goes into the unload mode. This depressurizes the system so the compressor is not at full pressure when not running loaded.

Several of the following series rotary compressors utilized this load solenoid valve however some models did have different valves depending on the year made. Please contact us with your serial number and we can verify this is the correct item for your Ingersoll Rand rotary screw compressor.
