The 37986262 separator element is an OEM oil separator from Ingersoll Rand. Ingersoll Rand recommends replacing the separator element filter every 4,000 run hours or once per year, whichever occurs first. The filter should also be changed anytime an oil change is performed. This removes oil from the airstream before the air is sent downstream. Proactively changing the separator element will reduce the pressure drop across the sump tank, increasing your energy efficiency and preventing oil from getting into your air dryer or production equipment.
