The 22456214 thermal valve body holds the thermal valve, spring, and cage for smaller Ingersoll Rand rotary screw air compressors. This is an OEM part from Ingersoll Rand.

This body sits underneath the cooler on the top portion of the compressor cabinet. The top portion threads into the coler via a SAE union and has a hose that routes back to the other side of the cooler.

This item contains the housing only and does not include a cage, actuator, spring or cap. When changing this housing, it is also recommended to change the thermal valve actuator and the spring. 22463368 and 22186696 (link and relate?) are the most common parts that fit into this housing, however we recommend confirming these are the correct in your parts manual.

The thermal valve body was used on most UP6-5 through UP6-15C rotary screw compressors manufactured after October of 2008 and several smaller IRN Nirvana variable speed drive compressors. Please contact our parts department if you would like confirmation that this will work with your air compressor.
